Horseback Riding In The Jaco Beach Area
In Costa Rica, horseback riding has to be one of the best ways to explore the surrounding parts of Jaco beach and other incredibly beautiful areas like the local rainforest. This sedate method of travel allows both horse and rider to get real close up to nature. Once mounted in the saddle, the view of the surrounding area is quite different to driving or hiking. This is because you sit quite high up and can see more. You also get to hearing more as you trot gently across the local terrain seemingly moving at one with nature.
Fun For The Whole Family
Horseback riding tours are proving very popular for family groups all over Costa Rica. Horse riding in the Jaco area offers some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere, taking you along part of idyllic Jaco Beach and then through pristine rainforests. This is quality time for the whole family to share. Our horses are in superb condition and know exactly how to work as a team with the rider. An Xploratura guide joins you to make sure things go to plan, and to share the secrets of the environment as you ride gently along the designated path.
The Highlights of the Horseback Ride
The 3-hour tour begins from Herradura, just to the north of Jaco. We take you past some tranquil local farmlands before heading deep into a jungle rainforest where we unveil what a real mountain waterfall looks like. It comes complete with a rockslide and heaven-sent swimming holes. We stop here for a while to rest our horses and riders. This offers a great opportunity to enjoy a cooling swim the way nature intended. We also provide refreshments at this point. On your way back to the beach, keep a watch for the natural residents of the forest – some are incredibly shy, others quite bold!
How Should We Dress?
Good question. We recommend long pants, waterproof shoes or sandals with straps, swimwear/towel, sunshades and plenty of sunscreen. Bring insect repellent if you are sensitive and be sure to have your camera at the ready to record some of the amazing scenes you will encounter on the tour. We supply helmets as a mandatory safety precaution for your horseback riding in Costa Rica’s Jaco region.
One of Costa Rica’s activities of note and one highly recommended for family groups. Riding the best horses in Costa Rica, you even get to experience riding through the rain forest.
